Aleksandra MichalewiczAcademic Specialist (Research Data) at the Melbourne Data Analytics Platform, and Honorary Fellow in the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies, University of MelbourneAleks' main research interests are the archaeology of the South Caucasus in the Hellenistic to Late Antique periods, mortuary ritual, gender and ethnicity in the ancient world, legacy data investigation, and computational / digital humanities. In her present role she collaborates and consults with scholars across the HASS, STEMM and MDHS domains, on the appraisal of data assets, research design, data collection, sustainable curation, long-term preservation, database construction, web development, data analysis and computing infrastructure. She has a growing publication record as author and co-editor and is presently working with colleagues on a volume about Australasian perspectives on digital archaeology. She has experience in teaching at the University of Melbourne, La Trobe and Monash, informal mentoring, and committee work within Australasian organisations.
Besides archaeology, Aleks is available to mentor in data-intensive research and data science, research methodologies, research funding and general check-ins/pastoral care. She has capacity to mentor a maximum of two mentees at any stage. |
