Rhiannon Evans

Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Languages and Linguistics at La Trobe University

Rhiannon Evans is Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Languages and Linguistics at La Trobe University. Her main research interests are in the areas of Roman cultural identity in the late republican and early imperial periods, and, increasingly, new teaching methods in Classical Studies. Rhiannon has a long history of public engagement, and is the co-host of the podcast ‘Emperors of Rome’. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has taught Latin, Classical Studies and Ancient History in Australian universities for two decades. Rhiannon has supervised many Honours and Postgraduate students and undertaken a variety of administrative roles.
 
Rhiannon is willing to mentor across all disciplines in a way that suits the mentee, with within the areas of general career progression and learning and teaching. She has the capacity to mentor a maximum of two mentees at any stage.
