Alexandra WoodsAssociate Professor in the Department of Ancient History at Macquarie UniversityAlexandra Woods is a Senior Lecturer in Egyptology in the Department of Ancient History, Faculty of Arts, at Macquarie University. Her area of expertise is the study of visual culture in ancient Egyptian temple and tomb environments, particularly during the Old to Middle Kingdom periods.
Alex has wide-ranging experience in archaeological fieldwork in Egypt, teaching, supervision and mentoring, a strong publication track record in addition to local and national grant attraction. Alex has special interest in the scholarship of learning and teaching, having received several local grants and awards, and applies a learning in partnership methodology as the academic lead of the student-led Beni Hassan Research Group. Alex is willing to mentor across all disciplines in a way that suits the mentee. She has the capacity to mentor a maximum of two mentees at any stage. |
