Maxine LewisSenior Lecturer in Classics and Ancient History at the University of AucklandMaxine Lewis is a Senior Lecturer in Classics and Ancient History at the University of Auckland. She specialises in Latin language and literature, as well as Classical Reception. She has a passion for Catullus and the way his work has been “used and abused” over the centuries. In all her work, Maxine has a keen interest in the study of gender and sexuality, including the representation of women in texts.
Maxine has published scholarship in both Classics and Classical Reception (mostly with a literary bent), along with the occasional think-piece for Cloelia and mainstream media.
